Diversity promotion
The Meiwa Group is committed to promoting diversity to help us gain global competitiveness, improve our business performance, enhance productivity, and create innovations. Becoming diverse is achieved by securing talented human resources with varied perspectives and values, and by leveraging their personalities, abilities, and knowledge.
Promoting Career Development for Women
One of our important initiatives for ensuring diversity is based on employing people who demonstrate their ability regardless of their gender, following the Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace. We hold dialogues with managers to promote and develop women in their careers, as well as provide training to deepen the understanding of career development for women and encourage the use of their skills.
Using Mid-career and Overseas Employees
Through mid-career hiring of specialized personnel and exchanges with overseas subsidiaries, we are working to make use of human resources with diverse values and abilities.
Support for Balancing Childcare and Work
Support for Childbirth
We support employees giving birth by providing a longer period of maternity leave than what is legally required, ensuring that mothers are protected before and after childbirth.
Shorter Working Hours During Pregnancy and Childcare
We offer an extensive system of reduced working hours that can be taken during pregnancy or until a child completes the third grade of elementary school.
Support for Nursing Care of Children
Our leave system for employees with children up to the end of the third grade of elementary school lets them care of their children when there is sudden injury or illness.
Promoting Male Employees’ Participation in Childcare
We encourage male employees to participate in childcare by making it easy for them to take the legally required paternity and childcare leave.
Support for Balancing Caregiving and Work
Expansion of Family Care Leave Program
This system allows employees to take longer periods of leave for family care than is legally required.
Shorter Working Hours While Caring for a Family Member
Employees can choose to work reduced hours for caregiving, which helps them to continue working while caring for family members.
